Scholarship Announcement

One of the primary purposes of the Palm Beach County Chapter 0200 of the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) is to advance the education of individuals with exceptionalities. Chapter 0200 is offering scholarships to graduating Palm Beach County high school seniors. Applications are available from ESE Coordinators at high schools in Palm Beach County or through CEC Treasurer: suzanne.pollard@palmbeachschools.org



Criteria:

  1. 1.Applicant must be graduating senior with a disability and active Individual Education Plan.

  2. 2.Applicant must be a resident of Palm Beach County and attending a Palm Beach County Public High School for the past two years.

  3. 3.Typed written (no more than 500 words) essay is required summarizing how your disability has impacted your success in high school.

  4. 4.Two letters of recommendation are required detailing relationship to student, student’s leadership and academic qualities as well as contributions to community. References should be attached to application.

  5. 5.Copy of high school transcript.

  6. 6.Scholarship must be paid to accredited institution approved by CEC Chapter 0200 scholarship committee.

  7. 7.A personal interview may be required by the scholarship committee.

The following awards are routed through the chapter to the state.  Please use these links to elect for the following Chapter #0200 (Palm Beach County) awards.  Nominations will be accepted until April 25, 2018.  Note that all local awards are submitted to and through the chapter.  Google Forms have been utilized for your form filling convenience.

CEC National offers a variety of professional, student and youth awards that recognized at the CEC National Convention and Expo general session.
